Outstanding opportunity for a manufacturing or construction industry Process Improvement professional who will work to develop process improvements, establish manufacturing processes and procedures, and provide technical expertise and support to all areas of the business. Strong focus on process improvement and development to increase efficiencies in the production line. Other tasks and duties will include detailing and developing standardization drawing processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute projects to achieve company targets for quality and cost, including improving operational efficiencies, improving scrap rates, and waste reduction.
Lean Manufacturing using FPS methodology, time studies, Kaizen, 5s, and improved process developments.
Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing process to achieve continuous quality improvements.
Reduce production variation through use of problem-solving methods (root cause analysis, fast response, etc.) to analyze problems and determine solutions.
Create and improve all work instructions throughout the production facility.
Conduct time and motion studies to determine optimum manufacturing rates and standards.
Identify obstacles that prevent achievement of quality and productivity targets and propose/implement solutions.
Gather, maintain, analyze, and report on process data for improvement activities.
Educational/training resource for communicating results of studies/improvements.
Participates in and acts as a resource for continuous improvement.
Serve as a technical resource for production and maintenance.
Focus on reducing costs of existing product through labor/machine efficiency, scrap reduction, etc.
Other duties and projects as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree in engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-5 years’ experience in supporting manufacturing processes.
Positive can-do attitude.
Self-motivated team player.
Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to communicate and influence all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS
There are no supervisory or management requirements for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
2-4 years of experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge/capabilities in the areas of drafting process improvement and manufacturing.
Ability to facilitate progressive change.
Excellent verbal, written, and executive presentation skills.
Strong customer and results orientation.
Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
Ability to be an effective member of and lead the most complex teams.
