KBS Builder’s is looking for a Senior Accountant for its growing South Paris, Maine-based company. The senior accountant is responsible for driving accounting controls and will assist with the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, bank and cash reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Mastery of all Accounting functions such as general ledger, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, fixed assets, job cost accounting, pricing and financial statement preparation.
  • Implement and manage comprehensive accounting procedures using Sage Intacct.
  • Sales and Excise tax preparation and compliance reporting.
  • Assisting with annual operating plan, budgets and forecasting.
  • Support Inventory management.
  • Supervise external and internal audit processes and ensure that proper internal controls are maintained.
  • Strong Data Management skills, with the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large data sets ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business.
  • Lead the training and development and growth opportunities for finance department teammates.
  • Support financial systems implementations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial modeling and reporting.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, and/or related degree or experience; MBA preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with organizational skills, customer service experience, and ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Proficiency in intercompany accounting, including the ability to manage and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Blackline software is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting functions is required.
  • Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.
  • Prior experience in auditing is a plus.
  • Competency in billing functions is necessary.
  • Experience in managing month end close activities is required.
  • Proficiency in Month-end Close Activities is necessary.
  • Ability to handle Month-end financial tasks is essential.
  • Experience in preparing Month-end Journal Entries is required.
  • Proficiency in Monthly Account Reconciliation is necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Outstanding opportunity for a talented project manager in a rapidly growing segment of the construction industry. KBS is a well-established modular construction company operating in the Northeast. We are seeking a strong leader who is attentive to details to join our project management team. Our project managers take ownership of projects at the highest level, acting as the interface between clients, owners, designers, vendors, and governmental agencies. Internally, they interface with all aspects of our organization. The build relationships with employees, customers, suppliers, and other business partners to ensure the success of our projects and company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • First and foremost, our PMs lead. They lead our internal teams, external teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other partners driving the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other interested parties, Ensure clear and consistent communication at all levels.
  • Proactively identify and address challenges to maintain schedules and budgets.
  • Interface with our design and sales team to ensure the production of timely and accurate production drawings.
  • Consult with architects, structural engineers, and owners to finalize project specifications and submittals.
  • Ensure proper file maintenance and management (both digital and physical).
  • Utilize lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Outstanding opportunity for a manufacturing or construction industry Process Improvement professional who will work to develop process improvements, establish manufacturing processes and procedures, and provide technical expertise and support to all areas of the business. Strong focus on process improvement and development to increase efficiencies in the production line. Other tasks and duties will include detailing and developing standardization drawing processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute projects to achieve company targets for quality and cost, including improving operational efficiencies, improving scrap rates, and waste reduction.
  • Lean Manufacturing using FPS methodology, time studies, Kaizen, 5s, and improved process developments.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing process to achieve continuous quality improvements.
  • Reduce production variation through use of problem-solving methods (root cause analysis, fast response, etc.) to analyze problems and determine solutions.
  • Create and improve all work instructions throughout the production facility.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to determine optimum manufacturing rates and standards.
  • Identify obstacles that prevent achievement of quality and productivity targets and propose/implement solutions.
  • Gather, maintain, analyze, and report on process data for improvement activities.
  • Educational/training resource for communicating results of studies/improvements.
  • Participates in and acts as a resource for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a technical resource for production and maintenance.
  • Focus on reducing costs of existing product through labor/machine efficiency, scrap reduction, etc.
